About The Event
"The cloud paintings are a result of a lifetime of observing nature. Even as a small child I was fascinated by the majic of changing clouds. There are clouds for every mood. Mostly I enjoy painting stormy clouds because of their building power & their sheer size."
"In my past I wondered what it would be like to learn about a person by doing something similar to what they had done, like paint the same painting. I didn't go to university to learn painting but I have copied several masters paintings. While I am doing that I also read as much about them as I can find & try to immerse myself in the work at hand.
"Gauguin painted these two paintings near the end of his life. At one point he ran out of canvas, so he painted the “Bouquet with Mangos” on burlap. I did the same. It is VERY rough and holds much more paint than regular canvas. It actually took me years to finish this painting. It never seemed to be done. I wonder if he felt the same way?"
